Here at the Lockmaster Security Centre we are often asked which of the bar systems we sell is the best. We always answer this with; “it depends on the application that the bars are for, all options offer good physical and deterrent security, but you have to consider the application so that you can make the correct choice”. When considering which window bars system you require please ask yourself; Are the window bars for interior or exterior use? Do you have to consider the aesthetics of the installation? Do you need to consider maintenance of the windows? Is access required through the window for room or building contents? Do you need horizontal fixing instead of the more normal vertical? Are the bars for domestic, commercial or industrial application? What colour finish do I need? (standard colour is white other colours available at extra cost, please see colour chart) Armed with these answers you can consider the three options we have available:-
Removable Bars Fixed Interior/Exterior Bars The award-winning SeceuroBar system features a host of innovative features yet offering exceptional security. The system has a two part anti-cut steel bar system, which are securely locked into position to protect vulnerable window openings, but can be released from the inside to allow total vision or maintenance of windows. These quality window bars are an ideal solution for domestic and commercial applications and suitable for installation in both the horizontal or vertical positions. The system is finished to a very high standard, no painting or extra finishing is required, the powder coating provides a truly maintenance free installation. These highly effective security bars will deliver trouble free security, yet are quick and easy to install. A higher security fixed bar system is also available for locations where removal is not a requirement. These bars are locked in place on the inside of the window using very strong extruded aluminium profiles which retain the bars, but yet can be released quickly from the inside to allow total vision or maintenance of windows as required. Where you are fitting more than one set per room or building floor then it is possible to 'Key alike' the locks so that you only have one key per room or floor, this upgrade is fitted for FREE, please ask at time of order to add this feature free of charge. When measuring for these bars it is important to check that the reveal is straight and level to avoid the mechanism sticking. Packing strips are available to assist with this, please ask at order stage. On taller installations spreader bars are used to reduce any deflection and to ease removal of the bars. Two rows of spreader bars are required on all bar heights above 1500mm. The system is designed to fit close to the window frame. The top and bottom fitting rails can be placed up to the window and the fixing positions marked with a pencil, the retaining units can then be removed and the appropriate holes drilled. The minimum recommended fixing is 10 x 2" (50mm) using countersunk screws, but other fixing can be used appropriately to the material being fixed into. You may wish to opt for fixed interior/exterior bars as opposed to the removable ones, and we provide this service on a supply or supply and fit basis (supply and fit subject to our fit area, please enquire). Fixed bars are constructed to the highest specification and provide a permanent physical and visual deterrent; they are particularly suitable in higher security domestic situations, commercial and industrial applications. These fixed systems offer the same high quality powder coated finish and require no maintenance once installed, if they are being installed externally then we recommend that the zinc base primer option is used. There are options for cut outs to accommodate pipes and other extrusions and lugs for face fitting instead of the more popular reveal fit build. Constructed from 20mm square or round steel bars with the frame normally being constructed of flat steel or steel box section.
